About AnyPond
Thirty years on the water, distilled into one calm ecosystem.
AnyPond is Mark Wilson’s life’s work: the method, the supply chain and the people that make ponds in the UK actually thrive.
The story
From a single garden pond to a national ecosystem.
Mark Wilson built his first pond at sixteen, dug by hand in a Yorkshire garden, and has spent every season since chasing the same question: why do some ponds settle quickly into living water, and others fight their owners for years?
Three decades of installs, restorations and emergency call-outs taught him that the answer is almost never a product. It is a sequence. A way of approaching the work that respects the water, the wildlife and the person standing on the bank with a net in their hand.
AnyPond exists to put that sequence into everyone’s hands. Home pond owners, weekend builders, full-time installers and the retailers who serve them all. One method, one honest supply chain, one phone number.
It is, deliberately, an ecosystem rather than a shop. Because ponds are ecosystems, and the businesses that serve them ought to behave the same way.
The AnyPond Method, in Mark’s voice
“Reset what is not working. Stabilise the basics. Enhance with intent. Sustain with the lightest possible hand.”
Most ponds I am called to do not need another product. They need a clean baseline. I take the system back to something I can read.
Then we set the boring fundamentals: oxygen, circulation, filtration sized to the load, and habits the owner can actually keep.
Now we add. Planting first, always. Fish, lighting and features after the water can carry them.
A good pond should ask less of you every year, not more. We finish by handing the system back, calm and self-correcting.
How we work
Four principles that shape every conversation.
Honest by default
We will tell you when you do not need something. Trust compounds; sales tactics do not.
Method over guesswork
Every pond gets the same calm sequence: Reset, Stabilise, Enhance, Sustain.
Quietly ecological
We design for living water, native planting and systems that need less, not more.
Built for the trade too
If installers thrive, the whole UK pond ecosystem improves. We back them on purpose.
